Lately I have been teaching a series of classes called Small Biz Crash Courses. I have covered Facebook for Business, Twitter for Business, Pinterest for Business and now I am looking at doing a course on SEO, Google Analytics, Alexa Rankings, Facebook Insights called: What Does All That Data Mean.
I'll be teaching this in August and my goal is to provide simple, easy to use information that businesses can go in and find solutions to why they aren't gaining the traffic they should be, what keywords they should be using and how to write SEO copy that actually works.
After talking with several small biz owners I have found that they are overwhelmed by the tools and aren't sure how to most effectively get them to work for their business. The questions I get are:
- How can I see if what I am doing is working?
- What is SEO and do I have to pay someone X amount to do it?
- Can I get better results with my Facebook page?
- Can I see where people are dropping off my site?
Things like that, practical questions that would make a real difference to a business. Here is the truth, there are no quick fixes. You can't pay someone a lot of money to do "black hat" SEO to your site and hope that you are going to get amazing results. Sure, they may be great in the beginning, but you will get punished. You get to choose REAL or FAST - and for most small businesses I assume they want REAL results!
After I teach this course I will write up the questions asked and how I responded, or if I am really tricky I'll get someone to record it! I teach through the Eureka Springs Downtown Network a series of free workshops geared towards entrepreneur development. Do you need me to teach where you are? Reach out, I just might come!
