I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Susan Campbell of Susan J Campbell Copywriting Solutions on a number of projects.
Currently we are working together for a client to produce compelling marketing for PortAnswer.com - a great project with a great client. I brought Susan in when I realized that the technical writing exceeded my expertise and she has flown with it! When we both had a moment I asked Susan a few questions:
What is your favorite part of working with a client?
I love to explore their business focus, learn about new topics and improve upon my skill with each project.
How do you help clients see your value?
Clients see my value by the increased traffic to their sites and positive responses to the content I create. They also see action taken as a result of the approach used in their website content, blogs, social media, etc. If it isn't contributing business value, I'm not doing my job.
For someone getting started in copywriting what would advice would you give?
Learn as much as you can, but be honest about your limitations. If you don't know anything about training leprechauns, be ready to learn everything about it before you write. Also, never criticize the individual who came before you - take a positive spin on improving the content to demonstrate your professionalism.
Thanks, Susan! I feel immensely blessed that I get to work with Susan and highly recommend her for your copywriting - seriously, the words really do matter!
