It is funny to me that many people love fall, but they are really adverse to change. It struck me that fall is one of the ultimate lessons in change. It is beautiful as our hills and valleys spark into almost unnatural colors and yet they are doing that as their swan song, before they dive into their winter hibernation.
And yet, people get very excited that the leaves have changed. They even seek them out, going great distances to see ever greater displays of oranges, reds, yellows, and deep greens.
But in our own lives we aren't so jazzed about the idea that things change - even things we expect to change make us edgy and unhappy. Funny, isn't it?
