Last night I was anticipating the new Zooey Deschanel series New Girl... like a dork is waiting for the return of a Star Trek movie. But here is the whole list of shows that came into view... and one that didn't.
Glee was same same... and really, I only like the pop singing numbers and anything that Brittney says. So, this is show that can play in the background while I contemplate my toenails, dusting or organize my silverware.
New Girl did not disappoint. Sure, it wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed the fact that she was just a girl - a crying, goofy, personal theme song singing girl. I can totally relate. Looking forward to the whole season.
Raising Hope makes me cringe. Yes, it is funny. Yes the acting is spot on for a comedy in prime time, but the idea that this is what average Americans are like makes me sad for humanity.
Last year I gave up Parenthood cold turkey. It was really hard because I have a deep love for several of the actors - swoon worthy really - but it had to be done. My husband had been saying for months that they were whiners who complained about everything and lived really unreal lives in Berkley. So, I did not watch. I will not watch. I gave it up. Sorry, Parenthood, I broke up with you.
Tonight I won't be watching anything. When they switched to digital broadcast we lost our ABC channel - yep, rural America rocks. So, I'll catch up with Modern Family on the flip side on Hulu. For the rest of Wednesday there just isn't anything that makes me want to waste an hour... except maybe Harry's Law, but that is because I have a thing for Kathy Bates.
