I think most of you know that I believe life is just one big experiment or game - you get to make the rules (ok, not all of them, but the ones that effect how you interact in the world). Last month I:
Gave up bread: I expected this to a) have an impact on my weight and it didn't at all and b) make me feel better - not so much. Instead it just made me more creative about what I did eat. I realized I was a toast snacker... you know, when you are hungry and you just make yourself toast. Not the healthiest choice and hard to give up. What I decided is that I don't need bread at dinner and I really only need to consume bread I actually like - good bread. So, the change didn't stay, but it was interesting.
Ingested 56 cups of water a week: It isn't that much, but what I noticed is that if I didn't have at least 12 cups of water a day I really started to feel dehydrated. I got used to it. This is in addition to tea, coffee, soy milk, juice, and sparkling water - so I am a really hydrated lady who pees a lot. A habit I am happy to keep.
Went outside everyday: It was a miserably month. Cold. Damp. Rainy. Terrible. But I made myself go outside anyway. My work involves being on the computer, phone or knee deep in paperwork of some kind so forcing myself to stop and go outside - even for just 5 minutes is important to my state of mind, eyesight and spirit. Definitely worth doing.
This month my three rules are:
Exercise 4 times a week, no dairy (except plain greek yogurt and dark chocolate) and flossing everyday. Let's see how this month goes!
