On the day that we left to take our daughter to college she took her driving test, and passed (congrats to our little driver!). Passing meant that she and her dad needed to drive to the next town over and get her license. She had to bring two forms of ID and one of them had to be her birth certificate. Now, we have her birth certificate, but finding it was a half hour in total frustration on an already stressful day.
We tore up the house looking for what I thought it would be in. My husband was upstairs in the mess that was my office before it became unbearably hot in the second floor, our daughter double checked everywhere that I looked, and I was looking through file cabinets, book shelves, piles of paper with no luck.
Finally I found it upstairs behind the tax folders that are propped up next to the boxes of my parents paperwork. A huge sigh of relief and they were off to get her new license.
I have been looking at doing a "household notebook" for some time and think that now that I have nothing but free time this might be a good project to do in the quiet evenings. Mine, of course, would not be about children and menus, but rather the inner workings of our garden, farm, household accounts, etc. Let's see if I can pull this off by Christmas!
