Well, My Sparkly Girl was accepted to the Arkansas Governor's School. She will attend on the Hendrix campus for six weeks. I am SO proud of her. This was her first application process and she just did a wonderful job of getting it organized and done. The school only accepts 400 students from the entire state and is quite competitive. We were feeling pretty confident until a few weeks ago because we hadn't heard and we got nervous... but now we are basking in her acceptance.
And what about these lovely chickens. The are Buff Orpingtons. They are good layers, kind, and fun to keep. I asked what was the best chicken on the Ozark Homestead group I belong to and overwhelmingly they all chose the Buffs. Neat! So, we are going to pick up the chick housing from a friend, order our birds, and be in the world of chickens. Won't that be a hoot! Now if I could just get over my fear of their feet.
