calendar girl contest

I found the November Calendar contest and just had to participate. Last Christmas Mr Pot gave us this Spam calendar. I wasn't and am still not sure why he thought we would like a Spam calendar. Yes, we get that it is kitschy. Yes, we think it is humorous. We even like Monty Python, but what I really think is that he knows we put our calendar in the kitchen, and Spam being some kind of food it would be appropriate. Yep, that is the logic of a 16 year old boy.

I used to do the marketing for The Pampered Chef. If you were ever a Pampered Chef consultant and you went on an incentive trip to Hawaii, Mexico, Colorado... I was the one who designed all of the ticket jackets, menus, signs, t-shirts... for the trip. Fun!

ANYWAY! Wouldn't it be possible to give home parties using work created by home crafters? Each crafter could send in one product, the amount of products they would be willing to make, and then I would design a cute selling kit, and go out and have "trunk parties" with all of the crafts. I would make a small commision, they would get orders, and the world would have more crafts.

With the holiday season coming towards us so quickly I wonder if this would be something that could happen. If crafters would be interested. If it worked there could be consultants all over the US or worldwide.

Home parties are fun, friends getting together looking at stuff, feasting on goodies. It is just fun.

What do you think? Now, don't steal the idea. I just want feedback.

finding my blogging voice

I am going to try something new starting next week through the end of the year on my blog. I have been reading so many articles about "finding your blogging voice" and how to keep the momentum for blogging and I realized that really, I can treat it like my own show. I can have episodes or topics. So, I am going to try a broadcasting schedule:

Sunday: Preaching to the Choir, my ideas about the world around us
Monday: Things I love, move over Oprah and Martha... we all have things we love
Tuesday: Blog Highlight, an in depth overview of a blog that I love or, I guess, don't love
Wednesday: Family Update... what is happening in our neck of the woods
Thursday: Spotlight, Interviews with women bloggers
Friday: What I Think, reviews of books, movies, television, radio... media in general
Saturday: I couldn't come up with a topic for a "show". Let me know if you think of something great that should be covered on a weekly basis.

Who KNOWS if I can keep up with this, but I thought it would be fun challenge and, really, the topics are so wide I can move quite freely within them.
