What a fun Halloween costume. My Sparkly Girl and Mr Pot wanted to be Bonnie & Clyde, but with a twist. They wanted to be them AFTER they had been shot. I had great fun creating the bullet holes with My Sparkly Girl on the shirts. We burned holes in them and then carefully painted fake blood oozing out of the holes. Then on the big night I pasted fake rubber bullet holes on their faces, blended foundation, and painted more fake blood. The costumes were bought at a great vintage store in Fayetteville by Mama Pot.
It was really extraordinary! Every adult knew who they were right away which made it even more fun. Their evening consisted of volunteering at the Carnegie Public Library Monster Mash Party. Mr Pot was the barker in front of the fishing game and My Sparkly Girl divided her time between making crafts and reading in the story tent. She said that the kid's mom's were a crack up because they didn't want the kids to do the crafts because they wouldn't be perfect. Sad, but funny. Then they were off to Trick or Treat (in our little village even adults dress up and Trick or Treat). Then dinner out with a group of friends.
Then they all ended back at our house and ate doughnuts warmed in the microwave for 11 seconds and spiced cider while watching the 1970's version of the Invasion of the Body Snatchers! An excellent creepy film... not gory, but fun. A great Halloween!
