Missing Out on Spirituality

Our district is having a retreat for women next month in Little Rock, four hours from my mountain cottage. I would LOVE to go, but the costs are just too high for this working mom. $185, plus hotel, plus gas... it makes me wonder about why our spiritual experiences are so expensive. I KNOW that for some of us that is a drop in the hat, but for this freelance marketing professional living in the repressed countryside of the midsouth that seems like a lot to worship together.

Do other church organizations charge for their women's retreats? I assume they all do. It is spirituality for those with cash at hand.

Oh, I am just being cynical because we are in a constant state of broke. Bah Hum Bug.
