I am so excited that the Arkansas Women Bloggers have decided that February will be blog housekeeping and boosting! Now that I am switching everything to my new blog (this blog) I could use the reminders of what needs to be addressed.
The first assignment was 5 One Minute Ways to Clean Up and Organize Your Blog... well, I think it took more than one minute to set up this blog (new side bar, new buttons, new categories...) but the idea is great!
Assignments:
Clean Up Your Side Bar: I redid the whole shebang! I worked for some time to figure out a system for categories, what social media I cared about (I still need to add google +, Flickr, and Instagram) and how many other things I wanted along the side. Next I will be adding ads and affiliations. So far though I like the look.
Remove Captcha: I've never had it. Because I read a lot of blogs on my iPad I don't like to have extraneous things to type in, it is just annoying. I want to just leave my darn comment. If I get spam I just delete it. I will say using Typepad does eliminate a lot of spam. The other blogs that I work on that are WordPress have to deal with that a lot more.
Add a Search Bar: I just did this to this blog. I never had one before and I realized that I will probably use it more than anyone else (finding and linking to older blog posts). Nice feature.
Easy Social Media Links: Working on that!
Create Site map and Submit to Google. Done and done.
Love it! I just have to work with my host to domain map my site and I will be boosting off with a clean start! Thanks so much AWB for the kick start!
